Today’s episode is a little different from what you’ve experienced here before. As a conventional healthcare provider I’ve been trained to look at the science, literature and evidence when thinking about therapies and recommendations. Earlier this year I met my guest and got really excited about introducing him to you.
My guest is Dr. Bryan Chung, MD, PhD. Bryan is a plastic surgeon and research scientist. He is also a graduate of Seth Godin’s altMBA program that both of us completed.
In 2007 during his last year of medical school Bryan started a blog called Evidence-Based Fitness. As he continued his training, the blog became an outlet for sharing his views on recent research, trends and fads in the world of fitness and nutrition. His initial goal was to draw attention to how research informs, and misinforms health decisions. Today, his new passion is Critical Mass, a mentorship and a transformational movement to help others develop research analysis skills and change their relationship with science.
Bryan has been a research consultant for Men’s Fitness, Experience Life, and Men’s Health magazines; on the advisory board for Examine.com; and reviewer for the Cochrane Collaboration of Systematic Reviews.
By the end of this episode, you’ll get a new perspective on the world of health and wellness research and perhaps will become more curious about ways of applying scientific discoveries to your own life.
