Can an established ritual enhance your life?
The idea of gratitude journaling has been popularized few years back. I have tested the concept in my own life and found it to be useful.
But a few months back, a friend of mine suggested to take this one step further and check out a monthly calendar and journal.
I wanted to learn more about the concept of introspection and productivity and invited its creator, Meha Agrawal, to join me and share her thoughts and experience with us.
Meha started her professional journey as a software engineer and product manager, but overtime she began to embrace her entrepreneurial streak.
Several years back she founded the company Silk + Sonder. Her products were inspired by self-help thought leaders and books, bullet journal layouts, and productivity frameworks.
The hand-curated monthly planners / guided journals were developed to empower women to reflect and rejuvenate by leveraging the power of pen to paper.
So my goal today is for us to look deeper at the idea of introspection and productivity as a way of finding balance in our lives.
KEY TAKEAWAYS:
1. How Meha got interested in the concepts of introspection and productivity
2. Three pieces of Meha’s daily ritual and what her self-care checklist is
3. Why Meha started Silk + Sonder, what does the name mean, the relevance of a monthly cadence, how art, design and productivity tips all mesh together and the future of the service

”There is a power in disconnecting from your gadgets and spending time with yourself, answering questions that you don’t necessarily think about day to day .”
“What emotional science teaches us is that in order to heal yourself you need to sit down with a pen and paper and write, the process of writing alleviates multiple negative feelings.”
“Planning without execution is problematic. So you want to set yourself up for success by picking one big thing and two small things that if you complete the day would be successful.”
“If you carve out 20 minutes to take any action, the only thing that helps someone to overcome their fear is taking action. You have to take that first step.”
